SHOPPER JOURNEYS & FRICTION

See where shoppers stop.
Find the story behind it.

A conversion chart tells you something changed. Connected journeys help you choose the next page, segment and session to investigate.

A drop-off becomes a direction.

Follow the cart transition into a related issue, a slow page or an observed session. Every next step keeps the shopping path in view.

KEEP THE INVESTIGATION MOVING

01

Start with a meaningful transition.

Explore how shoppers move between storefront pages and shopping milestones. Each funnel stage shows the sessions lost since the previous stage, and the selected transition stays marked as you investigate it. Automatic page groups make recurring storefront patterns easier to see.

02

Look at who reaches the friction.

A transition’s audience compares each device, browser and channel segment’s share among drop-offs with its share at entry, narrowing a broad drop-off into a useful segment, and Overview names the country, connection type or device-memory band that converts clearly worse than the rest. Compare the observed journey alongside rage clicks, dead-click candidates, cart failures, engagement and performance evidence; friction signals carry their own conversion comparison. Different starting points can lead to the same affected session.

03

Bring the sequence into the investigation.

Captured timelines connect pages, actions, milestones and failures in order. Follow the observed path into an issue, selected occurrence or developer handoff. Your team gets an account of what happened on the storefront without needing to watch hours of recordings.

Take the journey into a brief

A LITTLE MORE DETAIL

Good questions.
Useful answers.

Do I need an error to investigate a journey?

No. A drop-off, repeated clicks or a slow page can be a useful starting point on its own. Explore the captured sequence and segment before deciding whether a technical issue explains it.

Can I move from a journey into errors and sessions?

Yes. Journey and page evidence lead into related issues and captured sessions. Use the step and segment to decide which observation is worth opening, then inspect the event sequence and technical context.

How do channels and campaigns fit in?

They describe the acquisition context captured for the session. Compare it with journey outcomes and affected sessions to choose an investigation. This is session-scoped context, not a claim to reconstruct someone’s identity across visits.

Is the session timeline a video recording?

It is a sequence of captured events: pages, shopping milestones, interactions and failures. Dozenfold does not record typed values or screen video. Optional error-session replay, off until a store turns it on, adds a masked page reconstruction for sessions with an error.
